Training at Cary Ballet Conservatory from Abroad

Dancers from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and beyond have trained with us in Cary, North Carolina. Now the door opens wider: Cary Ballet Conservatory is certified by the U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enroll international students.

2027-28 key dates

Summer Intensive begins June 28, 2027. PTP year runs September 7, 2027 to June 3, 2028

The year-round program

International students join our Professional Training Program (PTP), a full-time, daytime pre-professional program. Dancers train Monday through Friday from about 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturday classes and rehearsals, and perform with Cary Ballet Company.

Visas

For the academic year, we issue the Form I-20 for the M-1 student visa. For the Summer Intensive, many dancers attend on ESTA or a visitor visa, depending on their country.

School

We do not run our own academic school. PTP students complete an accredited online program, using morning hours, a midday academic block and evenings.

Living in Cary

Dancers who aren't local live in our Residence Program: supervised apartments a short walk from the studios, with a live-in Residence Manager and a chef who prepares meals. Airport pickup is available.

Language

Classes are taught in English. We do not require a formal English proficiency test.

How to apply:
