Joyce Gaffney
Joyce Gaffney graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison(UW), earning B.S. degrees in Dance and Environmental Science. Born in Barrington, IL, she received early training from The Barrington Dance Academy, attended summer programs with Nashville Ballet, and performed choreography by Giordano Dance Chicago.
At UW, Joyce had the privilege to perform works by guest choreographers Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company and Rob Kitsos as well as university faculty. Joyce received scholarships to attend: River North Dance Chicago's Summer Intensive, World Dance Alliance - America's Conference (Vancouver, CA), and ACDA North Central Conferences.
Her choreography was selected to appear in multiple UW Dance Department concerts through adjudication. Professionally, Joyce danced for Chicago-based Ardent Dance Company. Her other professional performance credits include: “Moments” (2017), choreography Jin-Wen Yu and "Consider It Not So Deeply" (2018), and choreography Marlene Skog.
Joyce taught and choreographed at various studios in and around the Chicago suburbs before relocating to North Carolina in 2019.
